On January 24th, 2015 we found out that we were having a baby! I was so excited to find out if we were not. I was pretty sure, based on symptoms, that I was, but I had been wrong before. Jeremy said I had to wait until the weekend to find out (we wanted to celebrate if we were and we're both too busy during the week.) I begged him to let me take it on Friday night, but he said to just wait until Saturday morning. Needless to say, I could not sleep!! I woke up around midnight... laid there for two hours.. then whispered, "hey Jeremy, I can't sleep. Can I just take it now?" He mumbled something sleepy, so I took it as a yes haha! I found out it was a positive, so I turned the bedroom light on, jumped on the bed and said, "we're pregnant!" (it was about 3:00AM at this point.) He barely remembered telling me that I could take it, but we were both so excited! We couldn't really sleep for another hour or so after that, because we were just so happy!
That morning, I entered the information online to find out that the due date is Sept. 25, 2015, which the doctor confirmed later on.
We're so happy, excited, lucky and grateful to be having a baby!
This is me at six weeks.
We had decided that we wanted to wait until we were at least 12 weeks along before we told people. After about 24 hours, we just couldn't hold it inside anymore! Jeremy and I kept saying that the first person we saw was going to find out, because we just wanted to tell everyone. We decided to call our parents the next day to tell them. They were so excited, which made us even more excited!
We've now had three doctor's appointments. All of which have been successful. The baby's heart beat at 8 weeks was 179 beats per minute and yesterday (13 weeks and 3 days) it was 150 beats per minute. It was so cool to hear the heart beat! It made it so much more "real". The doctor said that the baby is measuring more for Oct. 1st, but they're going to keep the due date of Sept. 25th. We also have an appointment at the end of April to find out the gender of the baby!!
For the first few months, I felt pretty sick all the time. I was just very nauseous and didn't want to eat anything! (except for cup of noodles, hot dogs and potato wedges.) I sleep A LOT and I feel exhausted quite a bit. Over the last week though, I've felt almost 100% better!
Jeremy and I took some photos this weekend to announce that we're having a baby. Here are more of the photos, mostly the outtakes.
This is my belly at 13 weeks. It's already so much bigger than before I was pregnant.
We're so excited to have a baby and can't wait for September to get here!
