Taylor is one month old

Taylor was officially one month old on Nov. 4th. Time has flown by! She really is the best baby! She sleeps and eats really well. She usually only cries when she's hungry or when she gets really tired. My favorite part of the day is when she smiles. I just love when her little gums are showing and she has a huge grin. I'm pretty sure she has no reason for her smile, but it's still adorable.

Just a few things about her:

• She tries so hard to keep herself awake when she gets tired. It's adorable.
• She LOVES to cuddle! She especially loves to be on Jeremy's chest. She'll fall asleep within minutes if you cuddle her really well, but then she'll wake up as soon as you lay her down. 
• Sometimes she cries in her sleep and it's so funny.
• She hates when you move her arms.
• She'll kick constantly when you change her diaper. 
• She eats super well! 
• She makes really good eye contact.
• She is so strong! When she does "tummy time" she basically planks. 
• Her head sweats a TON when she sleeps, even though her body isn't hot.
• She really doesn't like getting into her car seat. She'll fall asleep once the car starts driving, but until then, she'll get pretty upset. She HATES being at stop lights.
• When she looks at herself in the mirror in the car seat, she just scowls. It's the cutest thing in the world. 
• She really loves to hold hands. 
• She loves to touch skin. She'll scoot her head down to my arm if she has to. She likes to shove her face into Jeremy's face. It's the greatest!
• She used to hate the bath, but now she's starting to love it. 
• When she gets really sad, her bottom lip quivers. It just breaks my heart!

Memorable moments:

• A few days after we brought Taylor home, she pooped everywhere when Jeremy was changing her. It literally shot across the room. 
• She giggled for the first time on her one month birthday! I was so happy because Jeremy was home to hear it.

Happy Halloween

Since Taylor was just a few weeks old on Halloween, we didn't take her trick or treating. My mom and Jeremy's mom both got her an adorable Halloween outfit. She's so lucky to have such great Grandma's. We just dressed her up, took pictures and took her to target to buy some Halloween candy. Once she went to bed, Jeremy and I had a game night with Dean and Brighton. I'm excited for her to be able to dress up and go trick or treating next year.

The First Month of Parent Learning

Oh how I wish babies came with an instruction manual. The first week was pretty stressful because we didn't know what "normal" was. Cindy came down from Idaho to help us out for a few days and I was incredibly grateful. It was great to just have someone say, "she's fine." She helped us bathe her for the first time and made sure we were putting the diapers on correctly :). I am in awe at how much Taylor has already changed in one month! She's so much bigger and has much more personality. From the very beginning, she's been an amazing sleeper and eater. She typically sleeps in two 4 hour blocks. She always wakes up around 2:00AM and stays up for an hour or two, then she goes back to sleep for 4 more hours. Of course, she has nights where she wakes up every 2 hours, but she usually slept really well. 

I take way too many photos of her, but I'm just obsessed. She is so cute!

Her first bath at home was a little traumatizing for her. She was pretty upset, but she calmed down the moment we got her in the towel. 

Newborn Photos

We got newborn pictures taken when Taylor was about 2 weeks old. Nicole Nelson Photography did an AMAZING job. She was so patient with our hungry baby. Taylor just wanted to eat whenever she wanted to stop taking photos. Jeremy did an amazing job of calming her down, she just loves her dad! I can't decide which ones are my favorite. I love them all!

Jeremy gave me this gold ring with Taylor's birth stone on it at the hospital. I wear it on my necklace that he gave to me on our wedding day. He's really the sweetest.
